Today’s Vastu Thought: The Science of Entrances and Energy Flow
In my three decades of experience as an Industrial Vastu & Engineering Consultant, I have observed one principle repeatedly: No direction is completely good or completely bad. Every direction possesses both positive and negative energy nodes. The key is understanding where these energy points lie and planning accordingly. Many people believe Vastu is only about directions. In reality, it is about energy flow, light, ventilation, functionality, and scientific planning.
Why is the entrance so important?
The entrance is the gateway through which natural light, fresh air, movement, and energy enter a building.
For example:
* East–North-East (ENE) is a positive node for east-facing properties.
* South–South-East (SSE) is a positive node for south-facing properties and is traditionally known as the Lakshmi Door.
* West–North-West (WNW) is the preferred entrance for west-facing properties.
* North–North-East (NNE) is ideal for north-facing properties.
When these positive nodes are utilized correctly, they support better health, smoother operations, improved productivity, and overall prosperity. Similarly, the North-East should always be planned to receive natural light and air through open space, landscaping, water bodies, or open-to-sky areas.
A Real Industrial Case Study
Recently, I visited a dairy processing plant owned by a Chartered Accountant who had invested with the dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Initially, the business was running on a break-even basis. Later, based on incorrect advice, the factory entrance was shifted from South–South-East (positive) to South–South-West (negative).
The consequences were immediate:
Production declined.
Cash flow reduced.
Operational disputes increased.
Financial stress mounted.
The entrepreneur even considered closing the business.
After studying the complete energy flow of the plant, I recommended:
Restoring the entrance to its original positive location.
Closing the western pit.
Closing the borewell in the South-East.
Removing heavy machinery from the North-East.
Shifting dispatch operations to the South-East.
Reorganising seating based on positive energy zones.
Disconnecting the compound wall from the main building.
The Result Within three months:
Production improved significantly.
Cash flow stabilized.
Product dispatch became smooth.
Bankers regained confidence.
The company planned a new Milk Powder Plant expansion on the adjacent plot.
This transformation reinforced an important lesson:
A properly planned entrance is not merely an architectural feature—it is a strategic business decision.Whether it is a residence, office, commercial establishment, or manufacturing plant, every project deserves scientific planning based on sound Vastu principles integrated with engineering.
